John Hoefert

John Hoefert is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, and hosting friends and family at his family farm when he gets a break from his work in real estate. This same passion infuses his work at Tarrant and Harman, where his extensive knowledge of land and recreational sales are invaluable to the clients he serves.

Hailing from Alton, Illinois, John is a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School and later pursued a Bachelors of Science degree in Fitness and Sport from Millikin University. For nearly nine years, he served with distinction as a police officer and K9 handler, earning life-saving awards and commendations for successful criminal investigations. He also served as a member on the Union Board. These experiences fostered in him professionalism, integrity, and strong communication skills that directly correlate to his work in Real Estate.

John cherishes family time, managing the family farm, and hosting guests which allows for the formation of lifelong memories. A seasoned outdoorsman, he revels in crappie fishing, hunting turkey, and foraging for morel mushrooms in spring, and waterfowl and deer hunting come fall. Residing in Godfrey, IL, with his wife Kate and their two daughters, Sophie and Marlie, John is the go-to real estate agent for those looking to buy or sell either residential or land in southern central Illinois. I can not say enough about how John treated us.

Just a quick note about the experience we had with John Hoefert. My wife' s brother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55 and we were not prepared for what to do with his property. He owned a house and 44 acres in Sorento ,IL. His health had gone down for the past few years, thus his property had not been kept up as it should be. At that time we had no real idea what the property was worth. I met with John and not only did he give us an idea of property value, but suggested what we could to increase value and chances of a quick sale. But that was just the beginning. Not only did he suggest improvements, as you would expect from any realtor, but wanted to know when he could come to help with the work. I have owned several rental properties in my life and have never had a realtor do any physical work with me to help sell a house I had listed with them. John spent several hours working with me on this property and even brought his own tools and 4 wheeler on the hour long trip from his house. Once I had done all the repairs I was able to do, the property was listed. We had several offers on the first weekend and had a contract within a week.
